Farewell.. @ 2:09 PM Separation again..it's the fault of scholarships! Haha..joking. 3 of our classmates, Bradley, Jonathan and Qi Ying are leaving us to continue their studies in West Malaysia and thereafter, overseas. We held a simple farewell dinner for them at a steamboat diner last night to bid them goodbye. Since when did Dian Ying turned into a sissy...We proceeded to Seahorse Bar and Bistro after that but it was "full house"..they planned to go to the Seahorse opposite 2020 instead. It was already past 9.30, so Winnie drove Doreen and I home..cause I wanted to..sorry if u two wanted to stay on! =) Lastly, hope the trio: bio-genius Bradley, theory-genius Jonathan and 12A1s kakak Qi Ying have a bright gleaming future ahead of them! Take care~ Suddenly thought of the song "Que Sera Sera"..haha.

@ 1:20 PM When I come to my wits' end trying to figure what to buy as a birthday gift, I end up going to the bookstore and buying a book. Well, if the birthday person don't hate reading. Since Voon Hui does not, I decided to buy a book for her. *Pardon me, you might find this post silly, it's just my trip to Popular Bookstore :P I spent around 15 minutes choosing a book for vh - short for voon hui. No, it's not like there's soo many books there, the number of story books is a bit pitiable in fact, compared to MPH. I was just ambivalent about which book to get. Crime novels were simply off the list - they don't fit as birthday books right? End of the day, I chose Jodi Picoult's Plain Truth. Her books looked so yummy. Will get one in the future. Jodi Picoults'. Book for vh after my dreadful "wrapping". Couldn't find any decent present paper. I had no intention of buying any books for myself in the beginning. But I looked for books that snatch my attention anyway, and also Ian Rankin's novels particularly. I read about an article in a magazine before, in which Harlan Coben interviewed him. I was somewhat drawn and started looking for his novels. That was what I did. Almost gave up.. then mummy found it! Perhaps my eyesight is really terrible..still, there was only 2 of them. Here's my book! My 1st Ian Rankin! I finished it already..and the difficulty I had trying to read it in class. The book kept getting kidnapped... The "New Arrivals". Intrigued by the title, I took a look at the back cover. Here's one of the example: " The best way to improve your golf is to cut down forests." I did not know photographing is banned in the bookstore. Only after sis told me at school did I know. Sorry, Popular! "Innocence is bliss" ..=)

Guilt 죄책감 @ 6:54 PM I wanna hug a big big teddy bear now..A big fat one would be perfect. Kinda overwhelmed with guilt and regrets. Guilty over a couple of things I did today. First, for printing the Malaysian Studies project at last minute, which was this morning. The computer somehow crashed and only worked when I restarted it for the umpteenth time. Next, for bothering Ruth and Ngik Shyuan in class by asking them to help me get my things cause I moved to the 2nd row. I'm really sorry about it..and thanks =) I'll qia you two sweets next time! Thirdly, for not stating clearly where I was going when I followed sis' car home after LAN. I 'thought' I mentioned I was returning home. And sis' parents ended up turning towards the town direction. Sorry for wasting your time and fuel..and to think that the fuel price has flown high. Sis, pass your parents my apologies again... Lastly, for wasting ink and paper. It turned out that the project was to be in double spacing. I used 1.5 spacing. First, it was this morning. The 3 pages I managed to print. Then, now. What was my brain doing? Why didn't I think of the reason I need to reprint before I start? Only after printing 6 pages then I remembered..I shall have 9 scrap papers for maths now. Sorry to Mother Nature.. Perhaps there are more things that I should reflect on. Like wasting some fried kueh teow during lunch, thanks to Doreen and Winnie for spoiling our appetite by all your cold jokes. ![]() My slow-poke printer has finally finished printing all pages. Even ninja turtle can be faster.

God's creation - Flowers @ 6:50 PM I often pondered about how wondrous God's works are. Take for example, flowers. There is an estimated 240 000 species of flowering plants in the world. But who knows how many there are actually? Well, my mummy is a flower enthusiast. Though I don't have green fingers or spend hours trimming plants in the garden, I take pleasure in examining flowers that catch my attention. I seldom go to the extend of planting flowers. I remember planting a quite successful white bougainvillea though, while I was still a kid. It's still growing and blossoming healthily now. Some fruits of my mummy's hard work: Purplish lily. Yellow orchids. I can't recall what this dainty little flower is named..it's pretty right? Blue flower, I don't know your name either. But you sure look familiar. Burst of white.. Mini lily? I like the little bit of green at the centre. White bougainvillea. No, it's not the one I planted. Haha~ If you were to ask me which flower I like most, it had got to be Souvenir de la Malmaison. It belongs to the Rose family,a Bourbon rose, which is a mix of Autumn Damask and China Rose. To speak the truth, I have yet to see with my naked eyes the real flower, only in the computer through Internet. I first came across it some years ago while trying to search for photos of roses so as to compile them into a mini-folio for my mummy as a birthday gift. In the end, the printer had no ink. No photos, no folio. >o< ![]() Here is one in a pale shade of pink. Such an exquisite and lovely rose. End of my flowers showcase. Try soothing yourself by appreciating the beauty of flowers sometimes, you'll discover the joy underneath it!

Cherish the moments @ 6:48 PM BIRTHDAY MARATHON Have you read my previous post on Greg's birthday? Take a look at what I said. If you don't get what I mean, I'm referring to the 1st and 2nd sentences, about going broke if someone's birthday pops up. Well, it's not 1 person's birthday this time, not 2 either, it's 3! Apparently, their birthdays fall on consecutive days..am I right? Hope so, but I know that Fairuz's birthday was yesterday! He even bought sweets for us to eat, thanks..and today is Hannah's birthday. When is Ee Cheng's? Apologies, I don't know. Birthday wishes to you all~! So, we bought a cake for the 3 birthday people to give them a surprise party...Maurice even cooked up the idea of putting a phone inside the cake box instead of the cake when the box was brought in. The Cocktail Cake. Fruits on top. Peach, kiwi, strawberries, grapes, lychee... From left: Hannah, Ee Cheng and Fairuz. We were singing the birthday song in English, Malay and Chinese. PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB Our Photography Club organized an outing to the Marina Bay this afternoon. It was my first time there. Thanks to Winnie for providing transport! Acknowledging your help, you should feel honored. Anyway, our primary aim for this activity is to learn more about photography skills. Naturally, our teacher is Arthur, who is really professional at photographing. We were taught on taking what object as the focus, from which angle etc. My "masterpieces" >> * All photos were taken by my K550i hp. Didn't bring my cam. Almost there! Advantage of sitting in the front seat. Sunglasses boy Ee Cheng with his cam. Clouds~! A dock? Can't see..only see ships. Nice? Guidance from Arthur..putting the wooden pillar in front with the building at the back. The looooong long wooden bridge for us to stroll down. Comparing the seahorse and the building.. Main entrance to the Ulu Mulu Restaurant. Discovered by Shirley. Pity it has not blossomed fully yet. Side view..I was looking for a new perspective. What's going on?! Haha...how desperate we are to take a nice pic. One of the special lanterns sitting beside the road. Can't find words to describe this photo.. Park City! Or is it Marriott?? Whichever.. Arthur gave me a thumbs-up for this! *beams* Taking photos from weird angles once again..since everyone was busy with the perfect angles. Took this while squatting down on the bridge. Not bad right? Mr. Seahorse! Notable symbol of Miri. Hahaha~so hungry till it wanna eat bougainvillea. Poor seahorse... This SHOULD be a nice photo with the sun making a natural glowing effect. But my hp cam doesn't show it well..too dark. Looking up at the back of it. I thought we can go up the stairs to the top..but two locked doors greeted me instead. This was the last pic I managed to take before my hp went to sleep because it is too exhausted. And it took me a while to realize that the black screen wasn't due to bright sunlight but that it had switched off itself! Silly me. Overall, it had been an enjoyable mini trip, learned some handy tips for better photographs as well. Anticipating the next one! =) |
