From UCAS application offers to A-Levels results to visa application to packing to boarding/flying to driving to Manchester. It has been a long journey and I felt a total turmoil unfolding in me as we drove nearer and nearer to this football city on Wednesday. My first time leaving home for so long anyway, couldn't help feeling butterflies in my stomach.
The sceneries along the route from Nott to Man. Those from my phone are like you saw, too horrible. =/ So I took these from my dad's camera.
Most of the time you see this kind of scenery around you.
Occasionally you see the animals that go Moooo..
...and those that go Neeigghhh..!
This road is so picturesque dramas can be taken here.
Okay. Those were 5 days ago. =) I had done quite a lot of things after reaching Manchester. It was a bit weird and dreadful at first, the 2nd Purple People senior that approached me wasn't all that friendly. But apart from that, it was alright. The local GP I registered with at my hall was a Chinese from Hong Kong who has been living in UK for some time. You could say he's the first Chinese I met in Manchester. XD
This is the Whitworth Hall where we do our Registration and make financial payments etc. I went on the 2nd day and met Sarah as I was queueing. One thing you get sick of here for us freshers is the queues. Fortunately, we waited for only 30 mins. Average queue duration is like 2 hours!
The fruit of waiting - my student card, or more commonly known as the swipe card/library card. Fees were all settled as well.
Opening my bank account at NatWest wasn't that straightforward though. I went to obtain my bank letter from the Student Services twice before managing to do it cause the 1st letter didn't have a letterhead on it. Mind you, I needa walk 15-20 mins from the bank to the Student Services. At least I didn't queue long for the letter hehe. Unlike sis earlier on! Hahaa..but wth, what am I happy at, I was waiting for her too.
Nice name for this building! It's called Waterloo Place XD So funny, keep thinking of toilet when I walked to it with sis. We were there for the vaccination - Meningitis and MMR. Yay, bully's gonna get jabs I hope!
Coincidence! That's why Manchester is dubbed mini Malaysia of UK. Bunch of Malaysians queueing up just behind us! Go to Sarah's blog for names and details XD I'm going crazy memorizing everyone's names, courses and home country..Don't get me wrong though! That doesn't include these countrymates of mine in this pic :D
Delighted I was, to find Malaysians here =P Birds of a feather flock together! We went for lunch together at Subway, ohh, with Yoshi the Japanese and a Caribbean guy whose name I forgot ^^ Thanks sis!!! For sharing meals with me all the time. Do tell me if you don't feel like it one day. Haha. Forgive me for my stingyness!! Seriously, I can have 1.99 times 6 divided by 2.50 bowls of mee kolok for the cheapest Sub of the Day! But lol, according to Looh Zhen, it's way nicer than the one in KL.
Whilst we were mixing around, dad went exploring with sis' parents. They walked to Chinatown!
And Arndale Shopping Centre.
No idea what place this is..
Typical street in England.
The Caucasians here just have all the time in the world drinking coffee and relaxing..in short sleeves or even shorts in the 13 degrees Celsius weather.
Okay. Due to the inconvenient moving of photos in the editing post section, I shall stop here and continue in the next post! I know I'm blogging very slowly, compared to sis and esp Sarah. So it's like, duh, they already blog the things I'm gonna blog, since we are going everywhere together. XD Anyways, I'll be good and blog still.
