powdered milk & Chinatown! @ 4:03 AM

Arghh..my Chinese flatmates are making paos with their friends, smells so heavenly...but I have to say no to the invitation of joining in cause I'm in pajamas already and feeling lazy to change into something more presentable. =/

So today is the 1st day of my 4 year ChemEng course! I had heard about how they give a hard push to us first years in the first week, but seriously, felt extremely clueless when I stared at the design project sheet in my hands. Basically we had to work out a flowsheet for the process of manufacturing powdered low fat milk from pasteurised full cream milk, calculating all sort of stuff in within, like the mass balance, the output in tonnes per day etc.

I was a bit lucky in the morning, just came back to my hall which is so near haha with Fang to dig out the biography and contributions of Dr. Van Ness while the guys were probably cracking their brains solving the maths and operation part. But the consequence of being lazy in the morning was getting lost as the guys rambled on and on about the plant flowsheet in the afternoon. Amiir and Jerrold explained like pros, well okay, the other guys as well. I just played the role of asking the guy next to me dumb questions T.T luckily he's quite nice. And he's from Weston Hall too! Yay~another hallmate! Is there even such a word...

Mathew and LZ and sis and I went groceries shopping at Sainsbury after our groups had all handed in the task for the day. LZ departed first as she's staying so faaar away. We proceeded to Chinatown after that, so near to Weston actually! =D I felt like grabbing everything from the Chinese stores..really miss mummy's cooking and also Malaysian food =(

Apple Juice! And I shall have a bottle to fill hot water into so I won't find my boiled water taken by someone else again!

Frigging upset at this. The cashier girl charged me 60p for "Chicken rice" when I bought "laksa fried rice sauce" that should be 28p!! I thought something was fishy when she asked me for 1.10, but kinda forgot to check after that as Mathew and sis were waiting outside. I shall count every pence very very carefully for my future shopping trips =(

Lesson no.2 learnt today : Check with sis if she's gonna come down before I set up my door block at night XD
