Linda arrived in London at Kings Cross on Christmas Eve. No easy task looking for someone in the sea of people bustling around in the train station - the one with Harry Potter's 9 and 3/4 platform!
It was also the day we moved from yeeching's squeezy little room to this unusually BIG room that belonged to 2 guys who went home for holidays. Trust me, when I say big, I mean BIG. Looking at the big floor space just made me wanna sit down in a circle and play some kids game.
*skips the part I almost spoilt the curtains rack but fixed it in the end yay*
Being Malaysians, the sky was already dark by the time we got ourselves out of the big nice room and to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland.
The security guard was busy helping everyone take photos XD
Candy stall.
I want crepes!!!
you fail me at night, camera...
Waffles waffles!
We shared a German Sausage between the 4 of us, took pictures here and there and set off to our highlight of the day -> Korean cuisine dinner! The shop yeeching desired to take us to was closed, but there were other korean restaurants next to it so we simply entered another one that looked decent.
Bulgogi - barbecued pork!
Dukbogi - spicy rice cakes!
My favourite korean food bibimbap! *drools*
Spicy seafood steamboat that warms up your body in the chilly winter weather!
After our scrumptious dinner we dropped by Sainsbury again to get ingredients for Christmas dinner the next day! The supermarket was half-empty, not much food left for grabs. That's what happens for last minute people. :P
It's a habit for me to attend midnight mass right on Christmas Day. But unfortunately, the three who most willingly agreed to come with me slacked away once we got back to the big room. And they banned me from going alone cause walking alone at night in London isn't a wise choice.
Thus, the night turned into another movie-watching night. Pride and Prejudice it was, the infamous classic by Jane Eyre. Nevertheless, I still fell asleep here and there for a few minutes through the movie. Don't get me wrong, it was past my bedtime and lying comfortably watching movies works like a perfect lullaby. The movie was nice...storyline was pretty similar to that in the novel. I would say that the novel is worth reading and the movie is worth watching as well!

The clock struck twelve and it was Christmas Day! Rejoice for Jesus Christ our Savious is bornt! He who grew up to turn tears to laughter, hate to love, war to peace...
I left the 3 piggies who were still frolicking in dreamland and went to Christmas Day mass myself. As I couldn't find any RC church nearby, I went to St. Pancras Parish Church where the Eucharist seems to be rather similar to our mass.
Beautiful stained glass behind the altar :) Not to forget, the 4 people doing a cappella were fabulous. It really does inspire you to sing along with them for the other hymns and christmas carols.
The main entrance.
Euston Train Station.
Quiet streets on Christmas Day.
UCL!
And this is where we stayed. the big room.
In the afternoon, sis and I went sightseeing with annshien, shuwei and samantha on foot all the way to Westminster since no public transport was operating.
St. Martin in the fields. Just next to Trafalgar Square.
Silhouttes.
National Portrait Gallery.
Nelson's Column.
Unknown horse-rider :P
Gate to no idea where...
Handsome black horse.
Downing Street...
...where you can have a peek at how Gordon Brown's office place looks like.
I came to visit BIG ben again.
We managed to get into Westminster Abbey for the Evensong! Photography is strictly prohibited in the church, whose plan is the shape of a cross. The interiors are beyond words for description. You've got to go in there yourself to feel the place. Fyi, Lady Diana's funeral was held here!
BIG ben still stands out from far :D
Passing by Trafalgar Square again on the way back...equally breathtaking as it was during the day.
Go straight ahead and it's Oxford Street - talk about that in the next post.
Hillsongs have their services here every Sunday apparently!
*credits to sis for the following 2 pics!*
9 girls preparing Christmas dinner :D
We whipped up a pretty big dinner with potatoes, parsnips, eggs, carrots, peas, pork, pasta, sausage rolls and pizza! That's not it. We even had chocolate cream, waffles and ice-cream for desserts :) Superb.
Hope everyone had a heartwarming and meaningful Christmas too!
