The Getaway part I @ 12:04 AM

Photos credits to : Sis' camera, sis' phone, Lionel's camera, Lionel's phone. Thanks :D

**********

A short trip is best for throwing away the turmoils of exams, especially the horribly screwed-up Maths. Wonderful for escaping the city for a while too. You rule, countrysides! :D

It was just a 3D2N trip to Lancaster and Arnside with sis, Chiakhuan and Lionel. We set off from Manchester on a Friday morning by train, obviously, on which I discovered I neither charged my camera battery nor brought along my camera charger. hurray.

Our accommodation for the 2 nights in Lancaster managed to live up to my expectations of Bed and Breakfast. I simply love how homey it is, just like the dainty cottages in home magazines.

Bears definitely add to the coziness, teehee.

After a strong recommendation by the lady at the Lancaster Tourist Centre, we made a hasty decision to catch a train to Arnside straightaway.

And this, proves that hasty decisions can be the right ones sometimes :)

Difference between DSLR and a normal Cyber Shot. (okays, skills too) One of the very very few pics my camera survived to take :P

Can you feel the serenity?

Starting point of our walk through the bare woods and uphill path.

My 1st sight of the sea in the past 5 months! And a stunning one, for the sea water was shimmering and sparkling in the sunshine.

The beauty of God's works.

Our one and only group photo, thanks to the stranger passing by.

The uniquely-shaped tree trunk we came across as we went downhill.

I guess people stuck pennies into it (there were a lot of them embedded all over it) for making wishes. Perhaps cause its shape is kind of like a wishing bone?

Walk in the light of God!

Dolly and her kind :P

Supposed to take pic with the sheeps but oh wells, they prefer to remain as white specks afar.

Now wouldn't you love to live here...

A warm steak pie, cup of hot chocolate and jam doughnuts...in a pretty bakery overlooking the river bay. Simply delightful.

Sweetest baby shoes collection in a quaint little gift shop where we kept ourselves warm while waiting for the sunset.

And the magnificent scene soon came to take our breaths away.

夕阳无限好,只是近黄昏。
Good times don't last forever. Treasure them while you can.

Just after the sun made its spectacular show, I was surprised by the big round moon hanging low in the sky. Everything was so real yet surreal at the same time.

Parting with the river mouth scenery was kind of saddening, but at least it still left the mind and soul in tranquility. Yeah, just the mind and soul, not the body cause we shivered at the train station for 50 minutes before the train arrived, meeting a nice Philippino lady there who worked in Singapore for 18 years and now, has migrated to England. It was indeed a pleasure talking to her but as our topic flowed into home food, my tummy could not help but growl. XD

The night was spent playing Hearts and Bridge while munching biscuits and drinking milk. Sleepiness caught on to me soon enough though, as I dozed off in the midst of chattering after we snuggled into bed with the lights off.

And a beautiful day lies ahead :)
