Final Showdown @ 9:48 PM

2 down. 4 more to go.

Our 1st paper Maths Paper 4 Mechanics was alright, luckily. I actually checked and checked until my eyelids were drooping. Then I saw Dr Lee looking at me and finally 'woke up'.

2nd paper was Physics Paper 5 Practical. Thank God it was not something to do with electric circuits or some complicated stuff. 1st part -designing experiment is about finding Young Modulus. It was okay I guess. 2nd part..hope that the table's uncertainty's s.f. is correct.

Next up is Pure Maths 3. And after that, on 3rd June, is the ultimate challenge. 200 marks up for grabs in a day. Physics paper 4 and Chem paper 4 in morning and afternoon respectively. Wish me luck.

Look what I found by the way.
My Dad's Physics textbook(?) back in the olden days. The book was published in 1970 but the content is quite similar to ours. Fine, theirs is a bit harder.

Fight on, folks! We have only 2 weeks plus to go!
P/S: Please take a look at Jen's birthday post again. Modifications to photo done due to her personal request. =)

four in a row @ 8:23 PM

Please don't be annoyed that half of my posts are related to birthdays. It just happened that there's a very high 'birthday concentration' in these few months. ESP in May. Precisely, from 16th to 19th. You May babies certainly dug a hole in my pocket.

Celebration venue was initially Jenny's house for idonowat reason, and then switched to Fratini's and then in the end, it's the infamous Pizza Hut again. Well, we never get sick of pizzas, so..no complains! haha.

We tried to eat the pizzas with our eyes..to no avail. Pizza came early-bday ppl late.

The thai seafood pizza. Notice how unevenly it is cut??

I totally fell in love with Royal Masala.

Something wrong with your pizza, mr. koh?

Pizza gone in a second..haha!

Pizza Hut's new waiter?? Lol, what's Jen trying to say?

Mama Ling's homebaked lemon cheese cake. Nice!

left to right:
Connie(in red) 16th may - same as my dad!
Chu Jin(in green) 17th may - no comment xD
Vincent(in brown) 18th may - mechanics exam on bday!
*Absentee* Sis(in ??) 19th may - bday sandwiched btw mech n phy p5!

Connie and her bf. With card and present from us all.

ahem ahem. see some chemistry anyone?

Vincent with his card and prezzie. Btw, I see that we should have exchanged their prezzie boxes. Ah Jin wear green but get brown colour box. Vincent wear brown but get green colour box. Lol.

What's in there??? A Greenwich Polo belt. And this kid say, 'I seldom use belt one oh.' =.= At least we got you a pair of drum sticks too, drummer boy.

Immediate use..haha! Obviously he received a wallet. Polo again.

1st peace sign.

2nd peace sign.

Taken from too far...cant see our lovely faces huh?

Special add-on..birthday girl wearing the coat we bought her. (nie, i can't see properly, too dark.)

Last add-on: sis! Her prezzie: A purple necklace and a pink lip gloss.
Hope the 4 of you had a great birthday each! Though exams were right in front of your eyes.

誕生日おめでとう @ 12:42 PM

(I hope google translate gave me the correct translation, I know no Japanese!)

What kind of luck it is...to get sick on your birthday? Bad bad bad huh? Poor you, Jenny aka hubby-san! But luckily you managed to come to school or you'll be missing out all the fun we prepared! Here's a summary of the day..

Surprise #1: Everyone started singing Happy Birthday when Jen came back to class after her toilet trip. No one had said Happy Birthday to her the whole morning. Haha.

Surprise #2: Yong Han giving her the card and present on our behalves. Pity she didn't open it right away despite our pleas. Why we do that? Cause it's just shoelaces inside that pretty little box. xD You see, her mum's gift for her last year was shoelaces, so we planned to disappoint her first...the best is left for the last!

Surprise #3: After school, we tricked her to Parkson with the excuse that Winy needs to buy sth for her mum. It was arranged that everyone's car are parked in the new multi-storey carpark and Winy's in the basement so Jen wouldn't see their cars and get suspicious. Anyway, it was a success again as she had such a funny expression on her face when seeing our pack of ppl sitting there in Secret Recipe.

Surprise #4: The sudden appearance of David behind Jen in SR while eating. Shocked she was. He must have sped all the way from school. Good work!

Surprise #5: Our real present for Jen - a box of body gel, scents and soaps from The Body Shop. Remember to use it okay?! The shoelaces as well, heh.

So nicely wrapped she probably wouldn't feel like opening it.

Birthday girl. Happy??

Jen's lasagne without the bun. Quite nice.

Spaghetti bolognese. Next time we go eat GP's!! Better..

Jen and Teo. I realize that I'm always seated next to the birthday person and wouldn't be able to capture photos from a decent angle. sigh.

I thought that this Classic Cheese Cake looks cute. Does it?

So blur! Teo's Macaroni with cheese and...??

Suyi + Doreen's Chicken Mushroom Rice. Sth like that.

Chujin + Pollux's Chicken Cordon Bleu. The meat is sooo tender! But the cheese doesn't come oozing out like shown in the menu.

Surprise #6: Final thing. Birthday cake made by Dr Lee's sister. We turned off the lights at tuition when she returned from toilet(Yeah, again.). So there was the cheesecake sitting on the table with the small candlelight flickering in the dark. And Jen's grin from ear to ear. =)

Making her birthday wish. With everyone interrupting and telling her to wish for our A Levels results too. Cheesecake was wonderful..yum.

End of string of surprises! Hope you enjoyed yourself though you were constantly bothered by your runny nose, hubby-san! Take care and get well soon! =)

the longest word @ 4:21 PM

No. I'm not blogging about food today. People are going, 'Caroline, everytime I see you I think of food." !!! So it's funny huh? Oh weell, it's still good in a way that it makes them have the peculiar habit of bringing something for me to eat now and then. Hehe. Kay, enough of food. ( Now you understand, connie? )

***
A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."
The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

A man, down on his luck, went into a church which catered to the "uppity". Spotting the man's dirty clothes a deacon, worried about the churches image, went to the man and asked him if he needed help. The man said, "I was praying and the Lord told me to come to this church."
The deacon suggested that the man go pray some more and possibly he might get a different answer. The next Sunday the man returned. The deacon asked, "Did you get a different answer?"
The man replied, "Yes I did. I told the Lord that they don't want me in that church and the Lord said, 'Don't worry about it son; I've been trying to get into that church for years and haven't made it yet."

***
A preacher was completing a temperance sermon; with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."
He sat down.
The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365: "Shall We Gather at the River."

Just trying to bring you a smile on this lovely day God gave us!

food indulgence II @ 4:02 PM

It was half a miracle, that my dad went to a food outlet which I had never been to! How can that be, you're wondering...haha. You see, my dad is an anti-eatout, anti-'tapao' person. So, yeah, my family practically eats at home 7 days a week, 365 days a year (like how we eat yoghurt xD). The only exceptions are..eg. eating at grandparents' house, travelling or...I guess that's it. Lol.

Well, this place he went to is Fratini's Restaurant, together with his colleagues, who paid for everything. Or is it the company that pays? No idea. Not that it has got anything to do with me, teeheee..what has got to do with me is...

The pizza my dad brought back! The black-black thing is olives kay?

Spinach Pasta - what my dad ate there. I want Carbonara Pasta!!

So, as I was busy munching on the pizzas, my mum came home, very surprised to see my dad's car. I knew then she must have 'tapao'-ed food as well! So I happily explained that my dad had went and returned...and gleefully took over the Secret Recipe plastic bags from my mum. Yeah, I pretty much had a Fratini + SR dinner. Not a bad combination.

Chicken Kebab. With bits of mushroom and capsicum between the lovely chunks of juicy meat.

Cheese and Chocolate Brownies. Looks a bit small here.

Chocolate Mocha Cake! To tell you the truth, I have not eaten it yet. =D Just took it out for a photo. That's how bizarre I am at times.
Happy Labourers' Day to all! It's a happy day for me as a student too 'cause I can stay at home and eat whenever I feel like it, which is every hour or so! From oatmeal with banana and crackers to barley with sweet potatoes. So if you wanna see a fat me, gimme lots and lots of holidays! Haha. Bye..!
